Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain is a common issue that can stem from various causes, such as injuries, overuse, or chronic conditions. It can significantly impact daily activities, making it difficult to move your arm or carry out simple tasks. Proper diagnosis and treatment are essential to manage shoulder pain and restore function.

Common Causes of shoulder Pain

Identifying the cause of your shoulder pain is the first step toward effective treatment. Some of the most common causes include:

  • Rotator cuff injuries: Tears or strains in the muscles and tendons that surround the shoulder joint can cause pain and limit movement.

  • Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis): This condition causes stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint, often making it difficult to move your arm.

  • Bursitis: Inflammation of the bursae, small fluid-filled sacs that cushion the shoulder joint, can cause significant pain and discomfort.

  • Tendinitis: Overuse of the shoulder can lead to inflammation of the tendons, causing pain and limited range of motion.

  • Arthritis: Osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis can cause pain, stiffness, and swelling in the shoulder joint, particularly with age or chronic inflammation.

  • Dislocation: A shoulder dislocation occurs when the upper arm bone pops out of the shoulder socket, often due to trauma or injury.
