I am dedicated to helping my patients improve their quality of life by reducing pain and suffering.
Throughout my extensive 30-plus-year career as a physician, I have delved into diverse areas of medicine. These include research and educational programming in international health (east and West Africa), rural medicine, emergency medicine, critical care transport (Ornge), and interventional chronic pain management.
I am an assistant professor at the University of Toronto. I helped establish the simulation-based training program for emergency residents there and have been involved in developing the simulation program at the Academy of Transport Medicine (Ornge).
I enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills, primarily through initiatives like the Emergency Department Interventional Pain and Ultrasound course, where I train fellow emergency physicians in ultrasound-guided procedures.
At this career stage, I am focused on interventional chronic pain management. This has been driven by my interest in image-guided procedures and the desire to help patients relieve pain and improve their lives.
I hold several specialized credentials, including Certified Interventional Pain Sonologist and Advanced Interventional Pain Practitioner, which reflect my commitment to the field. I balance my work between The Premier Pain Institute and Chronic Pain Director at Medcan while practicing emergency and community medicine in Northern Ontario.
I am deeply passionate about our work at the Premier Pain Institute. It is a privilege to be part of a team dedicated to positively impacting the lives of our patients and the community.
