Adjunct Lecturer, University of Toronto

Dr. Michael A. Partridge is a highly experienced physician specializing in chronic pain, addiction, and emergency medicine with over 30 years of practice. He currently serves as an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto and is a staff physician in both the Emergency Medicine department and the Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic (RAAM) at Scarborough Health Network. His extensive clinical background, combined with his academic involvement, underscores his commitment to delivering comprehensive care to patients across a range of medical needs.

Dr. Partridge’s interest in chronic pain management originated during his time in family practice, where he realized that traditional approaches were often inadequate for patients suffering from persistent pain. This experience motivated him to seek specialized training in interventional pain techniques, leading to his certification as a Diplomate of the Canadian Academy of Pain Management and a change in the scope of his practice. He is also a Certified Independent Ultrasound Practitioner with the Canadian Point of Care Ultrasound Society, utilizing advanced ultrasound skills to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions with precision.

As an addiction physician, Dr. Partridge is particularly focused on minimizing the use of certain medications that can lead to dependency. He strongly advocates for ultrasound-guided interventional treatments as a safer, more effective alternative for managing chronic pain. His dedication to improving the quality of life for his patients is evident in his holistic approach to pain management, aiming to restore function and well-being through advanced, minimally invasive techniques.⬤
